Lead Monoxide Red Lead Pb₃O₄ is an oxide of lead (Pb) used primarily in industrial lead-acid battery manufacturing where it improves the formation rate of the positive plate. Pb₃O₄ is also used in the production of glasses, glazes as well as vitreous enamels.
